FDT Rhepanol fk FAQ’s
Can Rhepanol fk be laid over the top of an existing felt or Asphalt roof?
Yes, this system was partly designed with this in mind. As long as the underlying construction is sound then Rhepanol fk is the ideal choice.
Is Grey the only colour?
There is a darker Anthracite grey available and also a copper coating which actually ages naturally just like copper!
If we wanted to simulate lead or a standing seam metal roofs, is this possible?
Certainly. FDT manufacture a replica 'mopstick' flashing and a raised standing seam joint. These are placed vertically down the roof and bonded to the covering to give the appearance of a traditional roof.
How is this system fixed and applied?
It can either be ballasted, fully adhered or secured with a unique Gripfix ® system which consists of Velcro type strips laid across the roof with the fleece backing of the Rhepanol fk attaching to the gripfix strips. The membrane has a unique self-sealing edge that does not require heat welding or additional adhesives.
Is Rhepanol fk ecologically friendly?
Rhepanol fk is the only system currently available with a full 'Life Cycle Assessment' to ISO 14040 part ff proving this product has 'no significant environmental impacts' in all stages from raw materials to production to installation and ultimately to disposal at the end of use.
How long does Rhepanol fk last and has it had a true test of time?
The product has been used in Germany and the United Kingdom since 1961 and 1973 respectively. All available evidence indicates that the Rhepanol fk Roof Covering System should have a life of at least30 years.
